“I would like to share
with you all my experience of attending a reunion of my mother's
branch of my family of origin at Ocala.
All of my life--more then 40 yrs--I had pretty much believed
my mother had little or no family since she was orphaned at
8 yrs
in 1923. A daughter of a relative on mom's side organized
a family reunion at Ocala. I was really happy!! I learned
of many, many unknown relatives, some people I have known
most of my life were relatives. The big discovery is the name
of a relative who fought in the Civil War. There is a copy
of his "discharge paper" in the hand of one of the
living relatives. He promised to mail me a copy. You know
I got the names and addresses and photographs of all. Really
a memorable day."
